Man That You Fear 1:04:06 This is the landmark goth/shock/industrial album by Florida's own Marilyn Manson. This is the band's third studio album and final one with founding guitarist Daisy Berkowitz. I've been a fan of Manson for a long time but I've always had a fondness for the first three albums. Marilyn Manson is different than the other shock rock bands. As much as I enjoy them, acts like GG Allin, the Mentors, and Anal Cunt are peripheral weirdos who made careers out of edgelord behavior. It was easy for the social arbiters and the family values crusaders to dismiss those other bands. It's not so easy for them to dismiss this band. Marilyn Manson was and still is a challenge to those people. He's smart, the music is brutal, and he can eloquently explain the choices he makes. I should also mention that this is the 30th anniversary of Antichrist Superstars. In the years since, after being put through the ringer by life, Manson is now sober and has a new lineup. I encourage you to watch the recent videos of the band playing this entire album in New Orleans, San Antonio, and Austin. They've never sounded better and his vocals are so lit. It's an amazing comeback for someone written off by the general public. Anti-people now you've gone too far...
