Warwoven wins the Guineas! Sheza Alibi defeated & Lady Shenandoah stars | Race Day Mini

Clint Hutchison looks back on an extraordinary Caulfield Guineas Day, headlined by another stunning Group 1 win from Warwoven. The Bjorn Baker-trained colt backed up his Golden Rose triumph by surging past Blind Raise to win the $3 million Caulfield Guineas under Rachel King. Warwoven started $2.40 favourite and scored by 1.75 lengths, with both the winner and runner-up now firmly in the Cox Plate conversation. Rachel King was glowing in her assessment afterwards. “I don’t think he has peaked. I think there’s still more there.” The drama didn’t stop there. Land Legend produced a $61 boilover in the Group 1 Might And Power, denying $1.40 favourite Sheza Alibi in a thrilling finish, while Lady Shenandoah burst through under James McDonald to claim the Toorak Handicap — her fourth Group 1.
