Kumotek - Dinosaur Exhibits - 2011-2014

Going back in time to the design and development of several immersive and interactive animatronic Dinosaur attractions with Kumotek Robotics, including “Guardians of Time”, “RoboSue”, "RoboSolarium", "Field Station Dinos" and “Red Dirt Dinos” from 2011-2014. The pneumatic animatronic dinosaurs acted as a test platform and pilot project to implement Kumotek’s crowd pleasing “Human Interaction System” (H.I.S.) Technology, developed by Masahiro Ishida. The dinosaur designs and fabrication were collaborations Kokoro-Dreams (Japan) and Gujo (Japan). Through this technology, a series of unique dinosaurs animations were triggered by guest actions, face tracking and gesture detection making for very realistic, lifelike and fluid movements and actions. Our goal was to make the dinosaurs interact directly with each guest, sometimes responding in a surprising way. It’s always fun watching kids interacting with dinosaurs, especially when the dinosaurs interact back !!
