Research Students – Exploring career development in academia, policy and beyond

Research Students – Exploring the benefits of further study for career development in academia, policy, and beyond In this Employability Week Webinar we are joined by Lee Robbins, an OU alumnus working in corporate finance who is completing a part-time PhD with the OU on AI and access to justice and Lorrie Hayman who is undertaking her PhD full time at the University of Gallway while also working one day a week as a Research Associate at the OU. They share insights into why students choose to pursue a PhD, what the journey involves, and the different study modes available. The event will also explores how doctoral research can open doors to academic careers, roles in policy, or alternative professional pathways..
