I Decided to Stop Being a Fair Weather Rider

Part 2 of my ride to Maysville, Kentucky didn't go quite according to plan. I'd made up my mind that I wasn't going to let a little rain keep me from riding. As it turns out, there's a fairly substantial difference between accepting the possibility of getting wet and actually riding straight into a summer storm. What started as a scenic ride quickly became an exercise in questionable decision making, poor visibility, soaked riding gear, and repeatedly wondering whether I should have just stayed at the gas station a little longer. This isn't a heroic tale of conquering bad weather. It's just an honest look at what happens when a fair-weather rider decides he's going to stop being quite so fair-weather.
