Namaste, Kia India launched their SUV Sorento recently in India, starting at Rs 28 lakh ex-showroom, and the top model costs approx. Rs 40 lakh. This price made the product more interesting, as the market otherwise expected it at a higher cost given the feature set. Though local manufacturing helped achieve this cost, it is still unclear how far it goes; Kia is all geared up to push localisation as high as possible to keep the price low and still make profits.
