The Shifted/Absent Voter ‘Injustice’| ‘Scrap SIR’ Yogendra Yadav EXCLUSIVE

In this AI with Sanket episode, Sanket discussed with Yogendra Yadav, Political Analyst, why the “absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate” deletions under the SIR amount, in his view, to a “disenfranchisement”. Responding to economist Surjit Bhalla’s defence that the controversy is “much ado about (almost) nothing”, Yadav argues that India’s electoral roll will fall about 14 crore short of its adult population, that “absent” and “shifted” names do not add up, and that the Election Commission’s special exercise for left-out voters is only a partial fix. He says the only way out is to roll back to the pre-SIR electoral roll and run a rigorous Special Summary Revision. Bhalla’s view is that only about 70 lakh eligible voters were wrongly removed where the final rolls are out. #SIR #YogendraYadav #ElectionCommission #ElectoralRolls #VoterDeletion #Disenfranchisement #AIWithSanket #SanketUpadhyay #SurjitBhalla #IndianPolitics #ElectionCommissionOfIndia #VotingRights ▶For the latest news and analysis - https://thefederal.com/  ▶RSS Feed - https://thefederal.com/google_feeds.xml ▶For more explainers, and interesting videos - https://thefederal.com/category/videos ▶To watch The Federal's shows listed together for your easy access, click here:    • The Federal Programmes   Follow The Federal News here - ▶Website: https://thefederal.com/ ▶Facebook:   / thefederal.india   ▶X: https://x.com/TheFederal_News ▶Instagram:   / thefederal_india   ▶LinkedIn:   / thefederal   ▶Whatsapp channel: https://www.whatsapp.com/channel/0029... ▶Threads: TheFederal India (@thefederal_india) ▶Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3fy3utP... #TheFederal #India #BreakingNews #LatestNews #News #Delhi #Mumbai #Parliament #NarendraModi #RahulGandhi #Politics #Business #Economy Download The Federal App here - ▶Android - http://bit.ly/3DJSkiu ▶iPhone - http://bit.ly/TheFederalios
