Ewan McGregor Brings a Twenty Year Project To Life in “American Pastoral”

In preparation for the new film "American Pastoral", director Ewan McGregor (best known for his acting) would sit down with star Jennifer Connelly and the other actors to rehearse and figure out the best possible version of the scene they were working on, opening themselves up to options they hadn't previously considered. Given that he is best known as an actor, this is no surprise. As this is his first time behind the camera, McGregor focused on what he knows: a good performance in a good film. The film itself, based on the novel of the same name by Phillip Roth, drew McGregor in based on his parenting four children. Given that he has been attached to this project for nearabouts twenty years, it must be tremendously exciting to see his years of waiting come to fruition.
