Gilding an icon of St Raphael, water gilding technique

This is a bit of a rough edit, but it gives you an insight into water gilding. It was an extra bit of recording from the online course focused on painting an icon of the Archangel Raphael in egg tempera. This is an example of the method that I teach in the Icon Painter's Handbook, available from www.arborvitaeiconography.com and eliasicons.co.uk.
