He Towered My Gold. I Kept Coming Back. The Platinum Run #1

A Japanese player tower rushed my gold in the Dark Age, so I moved the villagers, produced Gilded Men-at-Arms and kept returning with rams until his defense finally broke. This is Episode 1 of The Platinum Run - my honest Order of the Dragon journey from Gold to Platinum. Real games, real mistakes and the things I’m changing along the way. This is the exact opening I used in this match: 1. 5 villagers are on sheep by default 2. 1 villager from sheep builds a house and a barracks 3. Set a rally point on wood until you have 3 villagers on wood 4. After you have 1-2 spearmen, you can put 3 villagers from wood on gold 5. Set a rally point back to food until the age up 6. Age up with 4 villagers. Build a Meinwerk Palace 7. During the age up, leave 4 villagers on food, 3 on gold and send the villagers on wood until you have 5 villagers on wood 8. When it's Age II, get the Meinwerk upgrades and raid the opponent with your men-at-arms (you may replace MAA with spears or horsemen if needed. It depends on the opponent) 9. Set a rally point back on food until you have 10 on food 10. Look how many resources you have. Either take some from wood and move them on gold for Age III, or just set a rally point on gold until you have 5 on gold. Then, keep placing villagers on food. Some tips: If a tower denies your gold, do not fight underneath it and do not hide your villagers. Move the villagers to another safe gold vein that is available on the map. Do not start panicking when being tower rushed. Prepare for your answer to it in Feudal and just get rid of that tower. The opponent wasted time and resources for that move as well, so take advantage of it. Do not feed expensive Men-at-Arms into the opponent one at a time. Build a group that can achieve something or use one unit carefully. Do not waste expensive units.
