24.09.2026 BBC Midlands Today - Ben Godfrey - Parking Charge Notices - Your Rights

I joined BBC Midlands Today presenter Ben Godfrey to discuss the problems motorists face with private parking companies and what you can do if a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) lands on your doormat. Private parking charges are not the same as council-issued fines. In this interview, I explain why motorists shouldn't panic – but shouldn't ignore them either – and why receiving a threatening letter from a third-party debt collector doesn't suddenly give them enforcement powers. I also discuss challenging unfair parking charges, appealing to the parking operator and taking complaints to the landowner, retailer or hospital where appropriate. #PrivateParking #ParkingChargeNotice #PCN #ConsumerRights #BBCMidlandsToday
