AKAI MPC Key 37 G2 Cook Up | NO SAMPLES — Building a Beat From Scratch

No samples today. Just straight cooking up from scratch on the AKAI MPC Key 37 G2. I had to switch up my normal workflow for this session, so I started with a synth using Chord Mode, then began building the vibe one layer at a time. I sauced it up with some talk box-style effects, added a nice delay, and just kept following where the beat wanted to go. From there came my signature slap drums, a nice 808, and a few simple elements layered together. Nothing overly complicated—and that was really the point. This session was a reminder to myself that you don’t always need 30 sounds and a complicated arrangement to make something feel good. Simple elements + the right choices + feel = a vibe. About 25–30 minutes of off-the-chest, unscripted cooking up until I felt like the vibe was there. No scripted tutorial. No overthinking it.
