They Never Heard Her Voice — Until Hajara Found Hers | A Story of Disability Inclusion in Nigeria

For a long time, Hajara’s voice was rarely heard. Living with a disability, she experienced exclusion and was often left out of conversations and community activities. Then she was given an opportunity to participate — and everything began to change. Through leadership training and support under the Conflict Prevention, Crisis Response and Resilience (CPCRR) Programme, Hajara gained confidence, began speaking up, and became an advocate for disability inclusion in her community. Today, she is not only participating — she is encouraging others, engaging community leaders and becoming a role model among her peers. This is Hajara’s story.
