This video shows a tour I made at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Houston, Texas, USA. One of the most visited museums in the country, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, 5555 Hermann Park Drive, offers a world-class collection of permanent exhibits, including the Morian Hall of Paleontology, the Cockrell Butterfly Center, the Cullen Hall of Gems and Minerals, John. P. McGovern Hall of the Americas, the Wiess Energy Hall, the Burke Baker Planetarium, and the Wortham Giant Screen Theatre. Outstanding traveling exhibits bring the world to Houston. HMNS was founded in 1909 on the idea that science can enhance everyone's lives. A lot can happen in 100 years, and throughout its first century, the Museum has always been growing — first from modest displays downtown to more spacious accommodations in the Houston Zoo, and then, with the opening of the Burke Baker Planetarium in 1964, to the Museum's current location in Hermann Park. Over the years, HMNS has continued to acquire major collections, expand its permanent exhibitions, and add new venues. Today, the Houston Museum of Natural Science is an expansive, multi-story science center where millions of families, students and visitors from around the globe gather to experience the natural world through exceptional permanent galleries as well as unparalleled world premiere exhibitions that bring the earth's wonders to Houston, many of which are organized by HMNS. Explore a world of wonder — spanning culture, history, space, wildlife, and the sciences at HMNS. Prehistoric beasts tower above and glistening gems dazzle around. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is more than a tourist attraction. It's where curious kids feel the excitement of new discoveries, and adults never stop learning. Its educational programs, world-class exhibits and family activities and events that engage the Houston community in science education.
