Our Well Bid Was WHAT?! (100° Cabin Build)

Returning to another weekend of 100 degree temperatures leads to insulating the cabin to keep the cool on the inside. Then one meeting leads to amazing news from the power utility, and another from the well driller leads to sticker shock Follow along as we continue to build out our short-term vacation rental / Airbnb micro resort. Right now we're in the early stages of finishing out the abandoned cabin that was on the property when we purchased it, while trying to juggle the logistics of getting the sites and utilities ready for the future — all while working full-time jobs. We'll use this cabin as our "home base" while we build out at least 3 more cabins on the property. Give us a like and subscribe to follow along as we build this cabin and 3 others, plus a trail system, on our 45-acre mountain property. The property has views of Taum Sauk Mountain and features similar rare boulder formations to Elephant Rocks State Park, both just a short drive away. We're calling the property Mina Sauk Cabins, named after nearby Mina Sauk Falls, Missouri's tallest waterfall at 132 feet — itself named for a Native American legend about a chief's daughter and a forbidden love that, as the story goes, ends with the waterfall being born from the tragedy. Other local destinations nearby include the state's most popular natural swimming hole, Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, and the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest.
