5/31/2026 - A Ride to the South, Part 2

Another nice day, especially to the south of us. So I decided to head south on one of my favorite local roads, State Route 13. My favorite section of this route is between the villages of Chittenango and Cazenovia. Just after I got south of Chittenango, I decided to stop and figure out my plan. What came to mind was to head all the way to Ithaca then up the western side of Cayuga Lake. My only concern was that the temperature may drop before I get back. But, I was feeling lucky so I decided to stop at Taughannock Falls State Park. Just the overlook as I didn't want to spend any money or the amount of time it would take to walk the gorge trail. Worth the stop for sure. I ended up getting lucky with the temperature not dropping too far and the dark clouds stayed to the north. Quite an enjoyable ride!
