Interview with choreographer Nicholas Rose

We’re excited to present Sehnsucht, choreographed by the renowned Nicholas Rose. Nicholas began his dance journey with Ohio Contemporary Ballet before joining Dance Theatre of Harlem and The National Ballet of Canada. Now based in Europe, he’s built an inspiring career as a performer, educator, and choreographer. Sehnsucht—a German word for deep, profound longing—was commissioned last year and is set to Edward Elgar’s moving Serenade for Strings. This heartfelt piece is dedicated to the memory of Nicholas’s dear friends, Alex and Jackie Berman, whose lives were tragically lost to gun violence.
