We interviewed Tobias, Executive Chef for Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class ships, to understand what it really takes to feed thousands of guests and crew every day at sea.
On a full Oasis Class cruise ship, the culinary team serves around 85,000–95,000 plated meals per day — not including buffets, Windjammer, Solarium, or other casual dining venues.
Tobias shares the scale behind cruise ship food operations, including how much chicken, pineapple, lobster, pizza, cookies, and hot dogs are consumed onboard!
This conversation gave us a new respect for the chefs, cooks, bakers, pastry teams, and crew working behind the scenes to make cruise ship dining possible.
Featuring Tobias, Executive Chef, Royal Caribbean Oasis Class.
