Replace Fuel Pump with a Lock Ring (2005 Dodge Dakota)

This is a very detailed video they outlines everything you need to do to replace a fuel pump on a 2005 Dodge Dakota 3.7L V6. This procedure is similar on other Chrysler/Dodge products with have fuel pumps with lock rings. During this video I elected to raise the bed of the truck instead of dropping the tank. There are several tools that you will need to complete this procedure and is not recommended for beginners with limited tools. ALWAYS DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY BEFORE DOING ANY WORK! Things you will need: -Special lock ring tool, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS PROJECT WITHOUT THIS TOOL. You will end up punching a hole in your gas tank without it. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01...) -Fire extinguisher, unless you'd like your project to turn into a potential disaster. Houses are expensive people. -Breaker bar -Jack stands -Floor jack -Socket set metric and standard with T-bits (specifically T20 for the gas fill assembly as shown in the video) -Anti-seize for the bed bolts -Something to put in between the bed and the frame (I used wooden blocks) -The scissor jack in the truck is great for putting between the frame and the bed once you've got at least one block of wood between the frame and the bed. -Flat head screw driver -Needle nose plyers -PB blaster (to spray the lock ring with, MUST HAVE) -A new Fuel pump for your specific vehicle. Can never go wrong with RockAuto.com ! -If you break the blue clip that's on the inside of your fuel hose on top of the fuel pump go to your local auto parts store and show them the broken clip. Hopefully they will be able to help you out, I was able to save the clip. -Several magnetic flash lights That should be all, when in doubt just look at all the stuff I used during my video to reference as well.
