Federal Electric Type B | Alert | Shandon, Butler County, OH

This siren is located in Shandon, OH. Our original plan was to head down to New Richmond, OH to grab their EOWS-115 and Werden P-127, but at the last minute we decided to go to Shandon, OH. Why? A few reasons: First of all, we had the frequency for that county, so we could get tones. Second, the siren was an EOWS-1212, and the last remaining Fernald siren. Now, I called the fire department a few times before the test, and asked whether or not the siren at the old station would test (the 1212) and he said it would. So we get there, and I notice some cut wires on the 1212. I think nothing of it, assuming that there is another main leading in somewhere. We set up, and noon rolls around. The tones come through... And low and behold, the rusty old Federal Electric next to the station fires up for a full three minute alert! So I trained my camera on that siren and went up under it. All in all, I think it was a success! Also, let me know if you like the new intro sequence!
