In this video Dr. Watson explains the ins and outs of working with loops in GarageBand. Topics include***:
Definition
The Loop Browser
Adding Loops to the Track Window
MIDI vs. Audio Loops
Replicating and Resizing Loops
Editing MIDI Loops
How Loops Automatically Adjust to the Key and Tempo of a Project
Loop "Families"
***BTW, one thing I WISH I HAD INCLUDED in this video is the use of "Snap to Grid" in the Edit Menu. This setting SHOULD be on as a default, and it causes loops to align to the measure-beat-subdivision grid in the Track Window, essentially so the timing of all your loops lines up. If you want to nudge a loop OFF the grid, you can turn "Snap to Grid" off, but generally you want to leave it on so you don't have timing issues.
