I bring Umesh and Devia home from school, spend some lovely family moments, and then we begin our Diwali preparations. I paint the walls of our home while my wife prepares and applies traditional mud plaster (Gaaro) in the courtyard. We also clean the house, wash our utensils, arrange everything neatly, and get our home ready for the festive season. This is the beauty of a Pakistani Hindu family’s village life, where love, hard work, and family traditions make every festival special.
