Bakemono means thing that changes — a shapeshifting monster from Japanese folklore. Unlike every other boss in the series it has no fixed form. Naoe has to adapt to whatever it becomes. Part 62 — the most unpredictable fight in the series. What's up guys, DAK here — Assassin's Creed Shadows on PS5, Part 62! The folklore arc is not finished yet. First — Bakemono. In Japanese the word Bakemono means thing that changes. A broad term for supernatural creatures that transform — shapeshift — appear in forms that keep changing before your eyes. Every folklore boss in Part 61 had a fixed form. Yuki Onna — cold and beautiful. Taka Nyudo — impossibly tall. Oshiroi Baba — ancient and unsettling. Bakemono is none of those things. Bakemono is whatever it needs to be. The most unpredictable combat encounter in sixty-two parts. Naoe cannot read a fixed fighting style. She has to adapt — in real time — to whatever the Bakemono becomes. The folklore boss falls. Then — three network targets. Kage. Which means shadow in Japanese. An operative who has built their entire identity around operating in darkness. Meeting Naoe — who moves through darkness better than anyone in feudal Japan. Shadow hunts shadow. Only one emerges. Logo Cruz. And I want you to notice that name. Logo Cruz is not a Japanese name. In the Sengoku period — European missionaries, merchants and traders operated alongside Japanese warlords. Some in prayer and commerce. Some in much darker spaces. Logo Cruz connected to the final network reveals that its reach extends beyond Japan entirely. A foreign operative in feudal Japan. The hidden blade finds them just the same. Little Kapa. A name that echoes Kappa — the Japanese water spirit of folklore. The perfect bridge between the mythology arc and the network mission. They fall like every target before them. Part 62. The shapeshifter and the shadow and the foreigner. Let's go. 👺 AC Shadows — Bakemono Boss + Kage, Logo Cruz + Little Kapa! Folklore and Network | Part 62 PS5 The folklore arc continues. Bakemono — thing that changes. A shapeshifting monster from Japanese folklore with no fixed form. The most unpredictable combat encounter in the series. Naoe has to adapt to whatever it becomes. Then three network targets. Kage — shadow operative. Kage means shadow in Japanese. Shadow vs shadow. Only one emerges. Logo Cruz — a foreign operative in feudal Japan. Not a Japanese name. The final network's international reach exposed. The hidden blade finds them just the same. Little Kapa — a name echoing Kappa, the Japanese water spirit. The bridge between mythology and mission. Part 62. The shapeshifter. The shadow. The foreigner.
