WHY ME? | Realistic AI Short Film | Higgsfield Global Film Festival

WHY ME? is my cinematic AI short film created for the Higgsfield Global Film Festival, exploring a question almost everyone has asked at some point: Why me? The film follows Noah Carter, a 29-year-old trying to understand why doing the right things does not always lead to a fair outcome. Through loss, work, relationships and quiet acts of kindness, his question slowly changes from “Why me?” to “What now?” AI can create worlds that were once impossible to film. But that isn’t what interests me most. My obsession is AI realism...how close can we get to a film where the audience stops thinking about the technology and simply believes the characters, performances, lighting and emotion? With WHY ME?, I wanted AI to disappear behind the filmmaking.
