When you think of Korean chicken, fried chicken probably comes to mind. But there's so much more to it!
Hey, it's Mike! Welcome to the first episode of itseoulgood!
Today, I'm taking you to two of my favorite chicken spots in Seoul, each with its own story.
First, we're visiting a restaurant I've been going to for years, serving comforting Korean chicken soup (baeksuk), homemade ginseng soju, and nurungji (scorched rice). It's one of those meals that always feels like home.
Then we're heading to Hyehwa for some old-school Korean fried chicken at a spot that's been around since 1977. Think crispy chicken, classic sweet and spicy sauce, ice-cold beer, and a side of spicy sea snail noodles. Trust me, it's a combination worth trying!
Along the way, I'll share a few local tips, my honest thoughts, and how to enjoy these dishes the way Koreans do.
So grab a seat, and let's eat!
