Why did Revanta’s radiance overwhelm the celestial beings? How did Lord Shiva guide him to Mahakalavana? Learn how this sacred Shivalinga came to bear his name. STORY OF SRI REVANTESHWARA Siddhaguru narrates the story of Surya and Sanjna, the birth of the Ashwini Kumaras, and their brother Revanta, who appeared on horseback bearing weapons. His extraordinary radiance overwhelmed the three worlds, prompting the devas to seek help from Brahma and Lord Shiva. Shiva lovingly received Revanta and directed him to an eternal, radiant Shivalinga east of Kanteshwara in Mahakalavana. There, the Lord declared that the Shivalinga would become renowned as Revanteshwara. Revanta sought unwavering devotion, supreme knowledge, lasting glory, and freedom from worldly bondage, ultimately remaining in the divine presence.
