Biblical Parallels Between King David & Prophet Jonah

While the sublunary nature of David and the Davidic Covenant informed the Calvinist doctrine of preservation of the elect, his genuine penitence made him man after God's heart and the apple of God's eye. His prayers to God and petition for help from his afflictions are mirrored by Prophet Jonah when stuck in the belly of a big fish due to his disobedience to God.
