Meet Peter, my 32-year-old Haflinger. In human years he would now be 92 years old!!! He was my first horse and has been by my side for 22 years. Through all the highs and the deepest lows of my life, he is still here, and he is still my friend. For him, I drive 60 km to the nearest town to buy expensive hay cobs for 86 EUR—a supply that lasts only one week. This video shows you Peter and the work on a farm that is never just routine, but constantly interrupted by some kind of chaos. This time, a few horses took the chance to run wild outside the property. For us, it was pure adrenaline, because the wild animals live here: bears, wolves, lynxes. But this farm life also has its beautiful sides. When an animal comes to you and asks for help, or when the water ripples softly, the sun paints the sky red, and the wind makes the trees dance. It is all here together. Chaos and peace. That is the reality out here on the farm.
