The BJP has secured a landslide victory in both bypolls. Hashirani Rath has won Nandigram by a record margin, while Shakharov Sarkar has emerged victorious in Rejinagar. BJP supporters celebrated the twin victories with saffron-coloured powder and sweets, marking the occasion with scenes of jubilation. Nandigram By Election Result : In high-voltage Nandigram, the BJP has ridden a wave of support to victory. The Chief Minister’s appeal appears to have resonated with voters, as Hashirani Rath has won by breaking Suvendu Adhikari’s 2016 victory record. She secured a victory margin of nearly 1.23 lakh votes, surpassing the BJP’s winning margin in Falta as well. An emotional appeal invoking a mother’s sentiments became a key theme of the BJP candidate’s campaign as she rode to a historic victory. Rejinagar By Election Result : The Rejinagar bypoll results are out, and this time, the Babri Masjid wave has failed to carry Humayun Kabir forward. The bypoll has signalled a shift in the political landscape after the change of power in Bengal. The Chief Minister had reached out to the Muslim community with a message of friendship. The BJP claims that minority voters have responded to that appeal, with a significant share of their votes going in the saffron party’s favour. -Suvendu Adhikari News: Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has hit out at Mamata Banerjee, claiming that Bengali Muslim voters have rejected her alleged misinformation. He said voters had been warned that if the BJP came to power, they would be deported to Bangladesh. According to the Chief Minister, voters did not fall for that claim and instead voted based on their own experiences. He also took a swipe at Humayun Kabir. TMC News : Both factions of the Trinamool Congress have suffered a major setback in the twin bypolls, with their electoral presence sharply diminished after losing their original symbols. The football and envelope symbols failed to make a significant impact. Mamata Banerjee’s faction managed to hold on in Rejinagar, but only with a weak showing, while Ritabrata Banerjee’s camp fared even worse.
