Inspecting the Royal Observer Corps Generator - BW 87

Check out: ‪@Escape-the-Chaos‬ In this episode of Bunker Wednesday, we take a close look at a rare piece of Cold War equipment: an authentic Yamaha EF1000 generator issued to the Royal Observer Corps (ROC). Supplied in the early 1990s to provide backup power for underground monitoring posts, this compact unit was a crucial piece of kit intended to keep communications and instruments running during a nuclear emergency. We look over the unit's condition, examine its original specs and mechanical layout, and dive into the ROC paperwork to see how these generators were intended to be deployed and operated underground.
