How Getting the Master Sword Early Broke Zelda

In 2007, Twilight Princess speedrunners discovered a way to obtain the Master Sword before completing a single dungeon. It gave Link access to transformations and warping hours earlier than intended. There was just one problem: getting the sword early could completely break the game's progression. This is the story of Early Master Sword, the glitches it caused, and how speedrunners found ways around them. From the original Super Jump discovery to Fixed Early Master Sword, the Goron Mines barrier, and Text Displacement, here's how one sequence break changed Twilight Princess speedrunning.
