The now-discontinued Kowloon Urban Tourist Route HK2 was operated by KMB and ran as a loop between Kowloon Station and Ma Wan. As part of the “KMB Tour Hong Kong” series, this route passed through Tsim Sha Tsui (Canton Road) before proceeding onto the expressway and crossing multiple overpasses—including the Stonecutters Bridge, Tsing Ma Bridge, Tsing Yi North Road, and the West Kowloon Corridor—allowing passengers to take in a variety of scenic views while “cruising the skyline.” In addition, this route was the most expensive among KMB’s numerous regular franchised routes. History Since its rebranding as “KMB Tour Hong Kong” in August 2025, KMB Route HK1 has been very popular among tourists and residents alike. To cover more local attractions, the Transport Department sought feedback from District Councils in November of the same year regarding the new Route HK2 being planned by KMB. The new route will pass through Tsim Sha Tsui, the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station, Tsing Sha Highway, and the Lantau Link, turning around at Ma Wan (Po Yan Road), allowing tourists to view landmarks such as the Stonecutters Bridge, the Tsing Ma Bridge, and the container terminals. On April 22, 2026, KMB introduced to the media the brand-new “KMB Tour Hong Kong” open-top bus route, “Skyline Tour” HK2, which was set to begin service on the 25th of that month. The new route departs from Kowloon Station, travels along Canton Road and Kowloon Park Drive to circle Tsim Sha Tsui, then proceeds via two of Hong Kong’s iconic bridges—the Stonecutters Bridge and the Tsing Ma Bridge—toward Ma Wan, turning back only at the Ma Wan Road roundabout without stopping at any bus stops; On the return trip, the route travels along the Tsing Yi North Coast Road, passing under the Ting Kau Bridge to experience its grandeur, then continues along the West Kowloon Corridor through the old buildings of Tai Kok Tsui and Mong Kok, directly to the former Yau Ma Tei Police Station, showcasing Hong Kong’s diverse facets along the way. With the launch of Route HK2 coinciding with the summer travel peak, KMB has made various arrangements accordingly. The government projected a 7% year-on-year increase in mainland Chinese visitors to Hong Kong during that year’s May Day Golden Week. KMB anticipated a similar rise in tourist ridership and hoped this route would boost its appeal to visitors. To that end, the company offered a limited-time promotion from May 1 to 8, allowing passengers to ride for $40; it also extended operating hours from June 27 to August 31, running from 10:15 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. However, with the end of summer vacation, service on this route was discontinued on September 1.
