Year of Release: 1994 Game Review & Impressions --------------------------------------------------- From the studio that created Pang/Buster Brothers comes Charlie Ninja, a side-scrolling platformer with excellent animation and visuals for the time, and a rather wacky sense of humour. Given just how polished the game is, I'm surprised there's no entry in YouTube's gaming database. In terms of mechanics, I suppose Shinobi and Rolling Thunder are possible influences. The fact you can activate a 'cloak' move that renders you invulnerable temporarily is analogous to hiding in doorways in RT, although here you can do it at will. There's also a variety of weapons to collect, each with their own effects, strengths and weaknesses, and this is certainly a game where you'll want to choose your tools wisely.
