The Chipmunk Adventure Had No Right To Go This Hard

The Chipmunk Adventure Had No Right to Go This Hard. It’s a cartoon movie about chipmunks racing around the world while unknowingly smuggling diamonds and somehow it turns into a surprisingly ambitious globe trotting adventure with great animation, memorable music, and some wonderfully ridiculous moments. In this video, I revisit The Chipmunk Adventure, break down its wild plot, look at why the animation still stands out nearly 40 years later, and dig into a question that’s surprisingly difficult to answer: why is this movie so hard to watch legally today? There are plenty of theories online about why the movie has become so difficult to find, but theories aren't facts. So I’ll separate what we actually know from my own speculation about what may have happened. Did you grow up with The Chipmunk Adventure? What are your memories of it?
