SONG INSIGHTS: Prophetic Word for This Moment Between Rosh Hashanah and the Day of Atonement As I entered the room to begin playing this song, I had the sense that it was a song about staying the course. But not in the sense that we were on a river and just needed to keep drifting onward. More the feeling of a general calling out “Steady!”, waiting for just the right moment to command his troops to “Fire!”. Or the feeling of a sailboat with ropes taut against a strong wind, heading in the perfect direction, but that great strength was needed to hold the sails in exactly the right place until the turn had been completed. I heard the words “Hold Steady” rise to the top of my mind. Then I began to play. It felt like intercession and encouragement for those who are going deep in the Lord in this specific moment in time - deeper than they've ever gone before. For the ones who have stepped out further than they've ever stepped out before onto the waters with Jesus. Hold steady. Now is no time to lose your grit or your resolve. Hold steady. Perfect. As I was editing the song, I noticed the song length. 11 minutes and 47 seconds. I knew today I would need to head to Strong's Concordance Hebrew #1147. There is only one usage of this word in the entire Bible and it is in a very specific and telling place. 1147. binyan: building “And they also asked them, ‘What are the names of the men who are reconstructing this building?’” Ezra 5:4 Not just any building. The Temple. When this word is used on the book of Ezra, many attacks have already come against the rebuilding of the Temple, to the point where the enemies of God's people had convinced King Artaxerxes to halt the rebuilding of the Temple, based on Jerusalem's rebellious past, and on the fear that, once rebuilt, the King would not longer get his taxes from the Jewish people. This was the first time the work had been halted completely in the book of Ezra. Then this happened. “At that time the prophets Haggai and Zechariah son of Iddo prophesied to the Jews in Judah and Jerusalem. They prophesied in the name of the God of Israel who was over them. Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jehozadak responded by starting again to rebuild the Temple of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them and helped them.” Ezra 5:1-2 NLT The rebuilding, against the King's orders, began afresh. Based on the word of the Lord through His prophets. A time a tension, and great danger for those who chose to restart the work. Here are the verses where the 1147 word “binyan” is used. In this translation it is translated as “Temple”. “But Tattenai, governor of the province west of the Euphrates River, and Shethar-bozenai and their colleagues soon arrived in Jerusalem and asked, “Who gave you permission to rebuild this Temple and restore this structure?” They also asked for the names of all the men working on the *Temple*. But because their God was watching over them, the leaders of the Jews were not prevented from building until a report was sent to Darius and he returned his decision.” Ezra 5:3-5 NLT (my ** added to designated the highlighted word) A time to Hold Steady, indeed. A time when the names of those who were rebelling against the king of the land, and obeying the Word of the Lord instead, were being identified for retribution and retaliation by the enemies of God. Hold Steady, Beloved Ones of the Lamb. Now is no time to lose your resolve. Watch as the Lord fights your battles and wins. And watch as the works of your hands are approved by the Lord, and your accusers are forced to fund the very thing they fought against. This is what happens next in the story of Ezra. The records are pulled up. The approval of the rebuilding by the past King, Cyrus, is discovered. And the current King reinstated the work. Forcing the enemies of God's people to pay for the work themselves. Rosh Hashannah began the Hebrew New Year on September 11th this month. We are in the 10 days of the foundations of the new year being set and the books of man's hearts being opened and weighed. September 20-21st will end these 10 sacred days on the Day of Atonement. Hold steady Beloved. Now is no time to lose heart. We are right in the middle of this moment in time. Hold steady the sails. Hold your fire. September 21st will be here soon, and it will be TIME.
