Ellen Allien After Hours Interview: Gen Z ravers, Berlin bouncers & early techno history

Berlin techno icon Ellen Allien is our next guest on the After Hour show. As a central figure in the history and development of techno, Ellen's early DJing career was catalyzed by the fall of the Berlin Wall. The Bpitch label founder continues to push boundaries in the industry today, always looking to the future as she tours globally and fronts 3 day long We Are Not Alone raves back home at RSO. We invited her over to the Hausverbot studio, where we talked about the years she spent living in a punk squat, her radio show in the 90s (“Brain Candy”) and why the key to thriving in the scene might be accepting everybody else as they are. 0:00-0:25 Intro 0:25-1:19 Podcasts 1:19-3:48 Living in a squat 3:48-6:00 Working at Tresor 6:00-8:30 Club rejection 8:30-10:15 Bpitch’s mistakes 10:15-12:10 Team players v.
