On the marquee today: American Factory (2019). This documentary follows the workers of a midwestern glass manufacturing facility under new Chinese ownership. The film contains themes of intercultural exchange, labour rights, and how operational decisions don’t always translate neatly into real life. Joining us to discuss the film is Professor Rob Glew, an expert in Operations Management at Villanova University. He offers his perspective on the complex interpersonal, cultural, and operational dynamics on display in American Factory.
