I Never Knew You Could Grow Your Own Saffron!

I’m growing my own saffron! In this video, I’m giving an old wooden planter a complete makeover and turning it into the perfect home for my 20 saffron crocus corms (Crocus sativus). I start by revamping the old wooden planter and giving it a fresh coat of black paint, before moving it into position in front of one of my allotment sheds. Then it’s time to get planting! I fill the planter with compost, add MAD Moisture to help with water retention, and then top it up with untreated compost ready for my saffron crocuses. The 20 saffron corms are planted in a zig-zag formation before I give everything a good watering in. To finish things off, I top dress the planter with MAD Soldier Frass. Now comes the exciting part… waiting for those beautiful purple saffron flowers to appear!
