COCKTAIL RECIPE: 🌲 The Forest Lament Ingredients: 2 oz Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin ½ oz elderflower liqueur ¾ oz fresh lemon juice ½ oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and warm water) 2 dashes orange bitters 1 small rosemary sprig Applewood or cherrywood smoke Method: Add the gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, honey syrup, and orange bitters to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass. Light a small rosemary sprig and place it beside or beneath the glass, allowing the smoke to wash over the cocktail. Alternatively, use a cocktail smoker with applewood for a cleaner, woodland character. Garnish with the smoked rosemary sprig and a thin apple slice. The idea: The Drumshanbo gin gives us the botanical forest floor, elderflower brings a little springtime sweetness, lemon gives it the bright innocence of Bambi's early world, and the smoke represents the intrusion of man into the forest... a subtle nod to the film's central tragedy.
