Inflating Heavy Steel Treadplate - Hydroforming with a Pressure Washer

Using pressure washer hydroforming to transform thick Durbar plate into soft, organic curves without expensive tooling. Hydroforming allows the plate steel to expand into pillow-like compound curves, that would be nearly impossible to achieve with traditional metalworking methods without marring the surface pattern. The functional anti-slip tread pattern becomes a decorative texture, and stripping back the heavy mill scale reveals a shiny silver finish that typically remains hidden. The finished sculpture shows how a utilitarian industrial material can be elevated into fine craft.
