On May 30th, 1999, eight young women from Fujian province died in their company dormitory in Shijingshan, Beijing. The police had no witness, no fingerprints and no weapon. What they had was a set of footprints left by a man in socks, and blood from a ninth person.
This is the true story of the May Thirtieth case: how Beijing investigators used more than eighty blood samples, a single drop of blood on a staircase, and one unusual toe to identify the killer living on the other side of the wall.
We remember the victims: Li Meiqi, Jiang Xuejin, Wang Mayu, Wu Shengdan, Xu Huijuan, Xiao Meifang, Chen Ruihua and Xue Zhuying.
