A calm, 46-minute documentary about Kīlauea, the volcano on the Island of Hawaiʻi that has done almost everything a volcano can do in the last decade. The hot spot that built Hawaii, what lava really is, the 35-year eruption of Puʻu ʻŌʻō, the 2018 eruption that buried Leilani Estates while the summit collapsed by 500 metres, the lake of water that appeared in the crater and boiled away in ninety minutes, the return of the lava lake, Mauna Loa in 2022, and the giant lava fountains of 2024 to 2026. Told with footage filmed by the scientists of the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. Made for relaxing, studying or falling asleep.
