Today I'm playing one of my favourite arcade games, Konami's awesome 'Jackal' from 1986 (also known as 'Top Gunner' or '特殊部隊ジャッカル'). I just learned that there is a version of this game that uses a rotary joystick, which enables rotating the machine gun. This is a huge game changer, making the gameplay more technically challenging and more exciting at the same time. The MiSTer is a FPGA-based open source emulation system that emulates a large variety of computers, consoles and arcade games from the 1990s and older.
