Game 1 vs. Ron (~10:15 – ~21:10):
Austrian Attack
A messy middle game with pawn structure damaged, a queenside pawn majority, coordinated pieces (invoking Paul Morphy's principles), survived down material, and converted the win.
Game 2 vs. Stanislav / Marotin (~21:30 – ~28:40):
1.e4 b5!??
Dark-square tension and closed position,
Breaking through on the flank (Qb8 to Qa7), pushing our rating back over 2000.
Game 3 vs. Charlie Lee (~29:00 – ~37:25):
1. Nh3!?
After gaining an early piece advantage, a classic Botez Gambit Accepted!
Charlie Lee took the win, prompting a quick coffee break during the break.
Game 4 Tournament Wrap-up (~41:00 – ~46:30):
Black resigned early and the tournament ended in a 3-way tie for 1st place with 4/5 points.
Charlie Lee took top tiebreak honors due to the head-to-head win.
