A quiet spring drive to Shigaraki, one of Japan's oldest pottery towns.
A slow day among tanuki statues and handmade ceramics.
A quiet place in Japan for tired minds.
Slow days. Quiet nights. Real life in Japan.

A quiet day trip from Kansai to Shigaraki — Japan's pottery town in Shiga.
I spent a calm spring day at Shigaraki Sakka-ichi (信楽作家市), an outdoor
ceramic artists' market held in the heart of one of Japan's six ancient kiln
towns. Wandering through tents, indoor galleries, and food trucks, surrounded
by the warmth of handmade ceramics and the watchful tanuki of Shigaraki.
