Chainsmoker Cat Episode 1 reaction — and Netflix just dropped the most unhinged anime premiere of Summer 2026. Yani is a catgirl with no rent money, no survival skills, no manners, and absolutely zero intention of quitting smoking. She fishes cigarettes out of dog poop. She ignores her landlord. She spends her last coin on a pack instead of food. And somehow by the end of Episode 1 you're rooting for her anyway. What is this show doing to me. Bibury Animation Studios went all out making this filth look absolutely gorgeous and the contrast between prestige-level animation and Yani being a complete and total disaster is one of the funniest things I've seen all year. The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia comparisons are completely earned — this is a show about a terrible person being terrible, and it works because underneath all the chaos there's something genuinely honest about the way young people feel completely overwhelmed by life. And then her sister Imoko asks for a photo of the apartment. I have never seen a catgirl move that fast in my life. The viral manga said go off and the anime said hold my cigarette. Is Yani the most relatable disaster character in anime history?
