You were taught to love without limits. Turn the other cheek. Give your coat, walk the extra mile, forgive seventy times seven. And you did — until you were exhausted, resentful, and wondering why being obedient felt like being punished.
Here's the part they left out: Jesus also said no. He walked away. He let people leave. He loved Judas and still didn't stop Judas from leaving. Biblical love does not mean allowing people to take advantage of you. The church taught you half the lesson — and understanding the other half can change how you approach Christian relationships and boundaries.
📖 In this video:
Why the idea of “love without limits” doesn't capture everything Jesus modeled
The difference between generosity and enabling — and how to recognize which one you're practicing
Why Jesus withdrew from people, and what His example teaches us about spiritual maturity
Why Christian boundaries are not the opposite of love, but a way to practice love without abandoning yourself
How to break the cycle of rescuing others without carrying unnecessary guilt
Spiritual maturity isn't measured by how much mistreatment you can tolerate. You can be compassionate without enabling destructive behavior, forgive without pretending nothing happened, and serve others without making yourself responsible for everything they refuse to address.
If you've struggled with people-pleasing, guilt around setting boundaries, toxic relationships, or the belief that being a good Christian means always saying yes, this conversation is for you.
