If you’re flying through Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and have access to the American Express Centurion Lounge, it’s one of the best places in the airport to relax before your flight. The lounge is located in the Central Terminal on the mezzanine level above the main food court. After clearing security, head toward the Central Terminal, look for the food court, and take the elevator or stairs up one level. It’s centrally located, making it convenient whether you’re flying Alaska, Delta, or another airline. The lounge is typically open from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., though it’s always worth checking the Amex app for current hours and any wait times. (The Centurion Lounge) As you walk in, you’ll immediately notice the Pacific Northwest theme. The space features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the airfield and, on clear days, the Olympic Mountains. Natural wood, greenery, and artwork inspired by the region create a calm atmosphere that feels much more like a boutique hotel than an airport lounge. (American Express) One of the biggest highlights is the food. Unlike many airport lounges that offer basic snacks, Seattle’s Centurion Lounge serves chef-inspired meals with a Pacific Northwest influence. Depending on the time of day, you’ll find hot breakfast items, fresh salads, soups, rotating entrées, and desserts. The full-service bar offers premium cocktails, local beer, wine, and spirits, all included with your visit. If you prefer coffee, there’s a dedicated espresso bar serving handcrafted drinks made to order. (The Centurion Lounge) If you need to get work done, there are plenty of power outlets, fast Wi-Fi, quiet seating areas, and workstations. Flight information screens throughout the lounge make it easy to keep an eye on your departure without constantly checking your phone. Travelers with longer layovers will also appreciate the shower suites, which can be a welcome refresh before a long flight. (American Express) A few tips before you go. This lounge is extremely popular, especially in the mornings and late afternoons, so it’s not unusual to encounter a wait. If you’re traveling during peak times, check the Amex app after arriving at the airport—you may be able to join the waitlist before walking over. Giving yourself at least an extra 30 minutes can make the experience much less stressful. (Reddit) Overall, the Seattle Centurion Lounge is one of the standout airport lounges in the United States. Between the excellent food, quality drinks, beautiful design, showers, and comfortable seating, it’s a great place to recharge before your flight. If you have access through an eligible American Express card, it’s well worth making time for a visit. Enjoy! Rating: ★★★★★
