Some of Harvard's Bonsai Trees Predate the Civil War

I went on a bonsai collection tour of the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. The collection—the oldest in the United States—started with a donation in 1937. During my early August visit, I got Squid Gamed for reaching through the fence surrounding the trees to get better video. So I learned a bit about shooting through slatted fences. Check out the 14 trees I got good footage of out of the 15 on display. The oldest one I saw started being trained as bonsai in 1844. The full collection is 67 trees, so I’ll have to go back.
