Should You EVER Handle a Scorpion?

Handling scorpions always comes with risks. In this video, I show how I handle some of my scorpions and share my approach to handling them. However, handling a scorpion is never completely risk-free. Every species is different, and individual animals can react unpredictably. ⚠️ Do not attempt to handle a scorpion simply because you see it being done in this video. Before handling any species, make sure you understand its behaviour, venom potency, defensive responses and the potential risks involved. Any handling is done entirely at your own risk. I am not encouraging anyone to handle scorpions, and this video should not be considered professional or veterinary advice. Know your species. Know the risks. NOTE: In the video, I said that scorpion antivenom is rarer than spider antivenom. This isn't entirely true, as it depends on the location. In general, scorpion antivenom is more widely available due to the higher number of scorpion envenomations. This is partly because scorpions are more mobile and tend to come into contact with humans more frequently.
